My son has been at Park Lake for about six months now and he seems to enjoy it. They have a nice facility and offer a few extra-curricular activities for the children, such as music, tumbling and Spanish lessons. They also have frequent opportunities for parents to join their kids for a special event - including a Mother's Day tea, Halloween parade, Christmas celebration and 4th of July picnic (to name just a few). I have thoroughly enjoyed sharing in these fun events with my son and his class. That said, my son has been under the care of a nanny since his birth. We decided to switch to a child care center primarily because it was more dependable. I am not able to compare Park Lake to other centers because this is our only experience...but my only complaint with Park Lake is that the teachers my son has had seem to view this mainly as a job. I'm not convinced they truly LOVE the children they are caring for and this is something I feel should be present. So while I think they treat the children very well, I don't believe they are overly loving and affectionate with them, at least not in the class my son is in. All in all, I would recommend this center if you are unable to afford a nanny. They do a lot of things right, are highly rated for academics and have a fabulous reputation among parents who have had their children there over the years.
